It has been my attempt to read Nova two or three weeks after I purchase it. That way, I get to enjoy it later, and then the next one arrives soon.
I thought it was great!!! Some people have complained that it was just a filler story to hold the title over until Nova rejoined Conquest. I have enjoyed DnA's flashbacks to Annihilation to feel in the gaps. I love the way they have addressed what happened between Nova and Gamora. I am loving this out of this world, trippy sci fi slant. Nova and Gamora being born, together from an alien womb. I guess they are fraternal twins!
Now as to this being a filler issue, I don't agree. A filler issue is one in which has nothing to do with the continuing story. For example I was reading the recent Superman story "Camelot." But DC kept putting other stories between the issues that had nothing at all to do with "Camelot." I thought I missed some issues (SORRY DOUG).
Nova had never forgotten Conquest and still carries the scars. The virus is attempting to take him over or kill him. He is still attempting to find a way to defeat the enemy and free the Kree. He just keep getting side tracked by unfortunate events. But in the meantime, we still get fantastic stories.
Some people have not liked Gamora's characterization. Maybe she is not acting the same way she did with Adam or with previous writers. But I see it as a seemingly tough woman who may not seem to "want or need a man" but has fallen for one none the less. And even though she is a very tough as nails woman, she still has strong emotions, emotions which she hide. Maybe being dumped by Nova, and possibly by Adam, she is emotionally evolving. I actually enjoyed the soap opera and action very much.
I'm thoroughly enjoying Nova. It has adventure far different than what we are seeing on Earth, post Civil War
