I'm still thinking about what the storyline is going to be here. Nova is all about doing what is right, in the traditional, earth-centric sense. The Surfer has a different bent on things in that his morality--very stong--is cosmically based. And there is also the whole power-up, once again herald of the Big G thing, which hasn't been fully fleshed out yet....
This story could--only could, it doesn't necessarily have to be--extremely intense and thoughtful. In terms of statement and character, it could be as big as Annihilation. I don't think it will be, but it could be.
As to who will win... well I'm a surfer guy--though I've been quite enjoying the Nova series and character--so I don't think I'm going to convert anyone on this board. No matter, we're all agreed it's going to be a helluva fight. Now let's muse on what the story-line might be.
I liked someone's earlier comment about the Big G being the one who removes the Phallanx virus from Nova. Definitely a could be. But how does that lead to SS and Nova going toe-to-toe? Hmmmm... I hope it's not a simple Galactus want to eat, Nova feels inhabitants of serving dish are not mere h'ors deurves. I hope for more. This could be a really great story. Anyone know anything about the writer?

: Actually, just like Jell-O, there's always
: room for debate.
:
: Just my opinion, but if Rich were to let
: loose completely and the WorldMind
: disengaged his controls over the Nova Force,
: the Surfer would go down (not easily or
: quickly, though).
:
: I think Rich would eventually win but do you
: think the all out battle would destroy just
: a star system or would it take out an even
: wider field?
