Along with the Essential Nova, Annihilation and the Annihilation: Nova mini, I'd recommend the Yesterday Forever arc from New Warriors #11-13 and the StarLost Saga from New Warriors #40-42.
Nova's other two series are fun to read, too. On the Issues section of the Nova Prime Page (www.novaprimepage.com), I have issue summaries of Nova's major appearances. Maybe those can help you pick and choose the issues you'd like to read.
And visit MBond's Nova Force Forum and the Nova Yahoo Group (along with this board!) to meet other Nova fans! Both can be found in the Links section of the Nova Prime Page.
