I'm just making a guess but I'm thinking that the Point One Nova is tied to SuperNova. It may be that Garthan Saal (with Rich out of the picture) is manipulating the hibernating WorldMind to create his own Nova Corps for his own purposes. And look at the back of the Point One Nova's helmet in Point One (which is the same purple color as Saal's, not the normal Nova Corps gold). It looks to me like there's some kind of port/jack in the back of the helmet.
If Saal doesn't have access to the WM, he could be powering up people through a helmet port. That could mean the WM itself will bring Rich back to stop Saal.
