I think its bad, and I'm pretty mad about it. First off, this retrograde to Nova as the "peter parker archetype" has been done before and was epic fail. (see Erik Larsen's disastrous run)
2ndly when Nova's sales were slipping how about you pimp him like in a major cartoon or a good run on Avengers? (not happy with the bad showing in Secret Avengers)
How about you make the new Nova one of the many Viable characters from his SUCCESSFUL series, such as Robbie Rider, Ko-Rel, or Tarcel? (heck Garthan Saal? That story was never resolved dang!)
While it's cool to have a talent like Waid take a shot here, it's just 1 digital issue.

: Ehhh, it'll be cool for the young kids but
: Richard Rider is to the Nova Corps as Hal
: Jordan is to the Green Lantern Corps. Sam is
: wearing the exact same uniform in Point One
: so its gotta be this new kid as well in the
: Regular Marvel U. Sucks that Loeb and Joe Q
: went with this instead of bringing back Rich
: and Peter Quill. How is there a Nova Corps
: when Rich is in the Cancerverse? All the
: Corps members were de-powered...unless there
: is a new power source and Worldmind we are
: supposed to just accept and go with it? More
: will be explained but I just don't buy that
: Rich and Peter are really gone.
