Yeah, my favorite GL has been Kyle since his first app. I did grow up on Hal in the late 70s but mostly on the older DC cartoons and Super Friends. Collected some late 80s GL when Staton was drawing it. But it was Kyle that really resonated with me.
Since Rich was Earth's first Nova just like Hal was Earth's first cosmic GL...you would think Marvel can still see that clear as day as when Marvel first created the Nova Corps as thier version of the GL Corps, right? But yeah, I can see how Kyle's personality can be seen as how Rich is as a Nova.
It does suck that Marvel wants to have it both ways when it comes to Nova(statues, action figures, video games, cartoons, etc) yet they cannot really fully commit to Rich, who is the greatest Nova Prime of all. Sinestro may have been the greatest GL before Hal but its Hal who has become the most legendary in the DCU. Kyle, Guy & John Stewart are great in thier own right but its Hal whom everyone see's as Earth's one true cosmic GL.
