Well Saal was sane and and died a hero back in the dire wrath story in New Warriors Vol 1. |
He's a good guy overrall.
I don't have a lot of hope that Jeph Loeb would care much about unfinished arcs by DnA, even one that DnA didnt seem to urgent to clear up.
DnA had over a year to give us a hint as to what was up with that Saal Tarcel thing, I've no hope for any resolution to that arc any time soon.
: Since it seems that Nova has new writers and
: theyre trying REALLY hard to get this Sam
: Alexander Nova into the marvel universe, my
: theory may be moot, but heres what I thought
: from the first picture we received of this
: new Nova.
: The black uniform is because this is one of
: Garthan Saals new recruits. Back during the
: war of kings, he somehow infiltrated the
: Shi'ars ship and recruited the captured
: Malik Tarcel for his cause. After that, we
: never saw anything of Saal or Tarcel. Saal
: was wearing his black nova uniform though,
: and Sam's new uniform is similarly mostly
: black. But Saal is supposed to be a bad guy,
: right? So why is Sam trying to help the
: universe? Well, its well known that Saal
: went batshit crazy when he recieved the
: entirety of the Nova force. Its possible
: that hes found his own source of power, and
: is creating his own nova force that he
: believes is just as heroic and noble as the
: original corps. It could be that eventually
: more will be revealed about Saal's new
: corpse and its true natures will be
: unleashed, but it would explain why theres a
: new Nova with similar powers when Rich died
: (allegedly) in the cancerverse. It would
: also continue the previous Saal storyline
: that was left open by Nova's previous
: writers. As I said though, new writers, so
: who knows.
: --Previous Message--
: Ehhh, it'll be cool for the young kids but
: Richard Rider is to the Nova Corps as Hal
: Jordan is to the Green Lantern Corps. Sam is
: wearing the exact same uniform in Point One
: so its gotta be this new kid as well in the
: Regular Marvel U. Sucks that Loeb and Joe Q
: went with this instead of bringing back Rich
: and Peter Quill. How is there a Nova Corps
: when Rich is in the Cancerverse? All the
: Corps members were de-powered...unless there
: is a new power source and Worldmind we are
: supposed to just accept and go with it? More
: will be explained but I just don't buy that
: Rich and Peter are really gone.
