I remember reading that Marvel Studios gave Zac Efron a script. The script could of been for a Guardians post-credit scene that would involve him to play Richard Rider.
: Blue Blazes!!! This is not good for the
: following reasons:
: 1. Firefly is a great series but Nathan
: Fillion is too old to play Richard Rider.
: 2. Richard Rider was in his mid 20s during
: the event of the Annihilation.
: 3. If true this could mean older Rider
: passes his Nova power to Sam. Yes, Sam will
: be the main character in a Nova movie.
: Dillion could be playing Adam Warlock
: instead. Warlock's cocoon was shown in the
: post credit of Thor: The Dark World. After
: all, Adam Warlock was in possession of the
: all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet at one point.

: With Nathan Fillion cast as Rich... I gotta
: file this under "Too Good To Be
: True" though they did make a point to
: cast someone as Rhomann Dey
: in the film. Why would they bother if Rich
: wasn't on the horizon at some point. Also
: casting an actor this old seems interesting.
: I guess we are going to bypass Rich's early
: years in favor of the Annihilation era Rich.
: This would clean up the depiction of Rich
: as a "rookie" in the first
: Annihilation arc though which never made
: much sense.
