I don't agree that GOTG should be a "serious" film; the humor and especially the choice of 70's song tracks scattered throughout with the pathos moments made it a coherent enjoyable 2 hours. In the end a film like this needs to be enjoyed and accepted by the masses; as well as the niche Marvel Cosmic fan and a middle point would need to be met in order for it to achieve that goal; to that end it succeeded.
Felt Thanos was too brief and out of the vilians Nebula was more kick ass than Ronan. A good start.

: Yeah, I know right. It seems like every time
: an Infinity Stone is revealed, they say it's
: the Power Stone.
:
: When the Cosmic Cube was first mentioned to
: be a Stone they said, Power Stone. When the
: Aether was revealed they said, Power Stone.
: Now the Orb is the "Power Stone."
: It's getting out of control.
:
: No matter what Feige or any writer or
: director says, I guess we won't know
: officially, until it's labeled in the
: movies.
:
: By then, I hope they'll be a Nova solo
: film!!

: True. I was thinking the stone was the Soul
: stone. It certainly behaved like it. I
: thought the stone from Thor 2 was power.
: I'm pretty confused in this respect

: Anyone notice that there weren't any
: Centurions in the movie. Only the Nova
: Prime, Denarian, Millennian, and Corpsmen
: were seen in the film.
:
: Dey and Saal were rank of Denarian. I wonder
: if we'll see Dey's further progression
: throughout the Guardians movie franchise
: until ultimately a Nova solo film come 2019
: for Phase 4!
:
: If the Orb is the Power Stone like they say,
: I hate the fact that Saal is dead. A good
: thing they didn't mention his first name
: bcuz then they can say he was Garthan's
: brother.
:
: However I do think the Orb is the Soul
: Stone. If so, him like many others could be
: trapped within it. Saal being released can
: lead to him going crazy thus becoming
: Supernova.
:
: On another note, I loved seeing the use of
: the Gravimetric fields. Hell, what's
: stopping the Nova Corps from using the Orb
: to generate/create the Nova Force we know
: and love in the comics?
:

: If they do a Rich movie or even a Sam movie
: how will that work. The Nova corp seems
: like a pretty grounded force
: technologically. I mean the planet was being
: invaded, and there were no nova force fueled
: supermen flying to it's aid. Just corpsmen
: and women in those fighters. They all
: carried guns.
:
: If they had rocket boosting, gravimetric
: beam shooting Centurions then you'd think
: they would be leading the charge against
: Ronin. I can't imagine a Nova movie (Sam or
: Rich) without at least that Rocket Boosted
: flight power.
:
: Also no mention of the Worldmind. Though
: they didn't talk about the Supreme
: Intelligence either so I guess those could
: always come up later.

: I really didnt mind the portrayal of the
: Novas
: in the end. If you think about it they may
: never have had the time to spare if they
: made them a focal point. However I feel they
: have much to be touched upon for a sequel to
: Guardians or pethaps spin-off.
:

: Okay Nova fans -now that Guardians is out
: and
: there's pretty much a plethora of views and
: spoilers out there regarding it - feel free
: to air your views about the film - esp
: regarding the Nova Corps! Enjoy. Daz
