Of course the longer delay was more due to the art by McGuiness; such a kick seeing our boy back in print after such a while - Ed draws Nova Prime with aplomb although as others pointed out I don't like the "Karmen Rider" effects to the helmet and yes he does the cardinal error of missing the star off his back - I'll mention that to him at DA - its not rocket science to have good decent ref pics - I do that with all my artists for Nova619 and they get the details right so why can't Marvel Exclusives do it too!
Now as for the story -well good points is that BMB does occasionally bother to read some past source material; he's got the Rich/Peter bromance/ Butch and Sundance rapport spot on. The tag line "Maybee we could split rent an apartment here" made me smile. Rich's powers were respected- and yes he held his own against Thanos exceptionally well which makes me of course wonder that of this was being written/plotted by someone eve more pro Nova Prime; its very likely Rich would have made it out alive - but I'm diverging here to the end of my thoughts.
I agree with Thanosrules; Thanos himself is a bit off - but even so its nice to see BMB does again adhere to some plot events in TTI; of course that doesn't last long when Drax turns up - still alive but hey Thanos himself got resurrected in the Cancerverse himself - and as the Revengers themselves crop up next time - its clear that screwy mcguffin the wonky cosmic cube has a very pivitol role in BMB'S plot.
So how is it going to boil down - what is Rich's final fate. Well I'm still going with the odds on favorite that Rich gets absorbed into Thanos - who inherited the Nova Force to his own power and that he uses that to get him, Quill and Drax outta dodge. By issues end with Peter being possessed by the Cube (can it do that?) its obvious to me at least that Rich won;t get out alive in the way we want him to; but lets say this does happen -remember Cyclops and Apocalypse - Alan Davis did a very memorable plot in Uncanny that had the 2 of them merged and its didn't last forever - so there's still some hope - if Quill's guilt trip does get him to seek out Thanos in the LSL comic and get him to reverse the mojo. Overall good comic - not great as a story but great for Rich; just to see him in action once more.
