With the big diss on Richard Rider in the comics, at Marvel offices, in any possibility in the MCU looking dim for now, etc I just was not feeling excited enough to own a movie copy.
Sure, it was pretty cool to finally see Xandar and some semblance of the Nova Corps on the big screen but in the end: without Rider, Nova Force, or Worldmind, it just was not the same.
As for MCU Ronan besting MCU Drax: I just assumed that Ronan was a more disciplined individual that was a natural born warrior and more focused with the bigger picture in his ideology while Drax was just out for exacting revenge for his family and was more hindered with his narrow-minded tunnel-vision in his quest by mainly focusing on one man.
It would be like Batman besting The Punisher in hand-to-hand combat, imo

: So I got my new Guardians of the Galaxy dvd,
: and while I did see the movie at the
: theaters, watching the movie again made me
: wonder; why was Ronan able to manhandle
: Drax? Shouldn't it be the other way around,
: or at least a better fight?
