Its really up to a united effort with all Richard Rider fans around the world to help bring Rich into the MCU and back in comics. Can fans of both Rider and Alexander really support either one to be "Nova" in the movies? That's just like asking fans of both Superman and Superboy who would best represent Kal-El/Clark Kent in the big screen. How many successful Superboy movies have been made? Exactly.
But a strong demand for the original Man Called Nova can very much influence the Hollywood offices of Marvel Studios and in some cases the NYC offices of Marvel Comics.
It would be incredible to see Rich, Ginger Jaye, Bernie Dillon, and Roger "Caps" Cooper all hanging out at Uncle Fudge's Ice Cream parlor on the big screen with Marv Wolfman himself cameo as a soda jerk.

: Yes, James Gunn has been mentioned as saying
: recently that there are no plans for
: "Nova" in his follow up sequel.
: Peter Quill will be the sole Terran in the
: film. Problem with that excuse is that Quill
: is only HALF Terran, while Richard
: Rider(assuming he is the Nova being
: mentioned)is all Terran. Rider was going to
: be part of the GOTG movie while early drafts
: was being developed. It was finally decided
: to discard Nova in order for the movie going
: audience to focus on one main Terran
: character: Peter Quill. Supposedly, having
: Rich as Nova would have taken away the main
: focus of the Guardians who are the center of
: the film. But, interestingly it was Rider in
: the Marvel Comics that helped cement the
: group that would come to name themselves the
: modern day GOTG team! Rider was only one
: lone active duty Centurion in the galaxy. It
: was Rider who also first discovered and let
: known about Knowhere and Cosmo.
: The character Sam Alexander calling himself
: "Nova" is supposedly Terran. I
: have not been following the details of the
: Black Nova series other than flipping
: through the artwork. So I'm not sure if
: Jesse is a full or half Terran himself.
: Also, Gunn has said in the GOTG DVD
: featurette that his vision of the GOTG is
: that the Guardians are not
: "superheroes" and that there will
: be no superheroes planned in his films.
: So until Marvel Studios and people like
: Kevin Feige decides to include Nova in GOTG
: 2, we Nova(Richard Rider) fans will have to
: convince them why there should be a Terran
: Nova Corps Centurion in the MCU.
