I picked up #1 when I read about it on this board, and the whole series has really seemed like the spiritual successor to D&A's run on Nova And Guardians-- I have a subscription, too, and so far it's been awesome.

: I've supported it from the start with great
: reviews and with encouragement to buy. On
: the other hand, your buddy, Brevoort, made
: negative comments about it from the start -
: and Marvel has given it absolutely NO
: marketing support whatsoever. Alonso even
: expressed surprise that it was selling as
: well as it originally did. And the art
: turned lots of people off if you've been
: reading the forums. It was always going to
: be a hard sell, but Marvel never expected it
: to succeed and went about making sure it
: didn't. I don't even know why they bothered
: to try. Probably they had some sort of
: contract obligation with Abnett to fulfill
: is my guess.

: I'm a bit surprised the sales numbers are so
: low on the new Guardians 3000 book. I've
: seen nothing but negative posts over the
: last few years about the lack of a
: well-written and mature cosmic book being
: available through Marvel and here we have
: one. Heck, I even added a sub to grab it
: since I enjoyed it a lot. The art even grew
: on me after the first 2 issues, and I've got
: no complaints with the book at all.
:
: I know digital sales factor into things, but
: with the sales estimate of 18,155 for the
: paper copies sold, that's a depressingly low
: number. That low number makes me think that
: G3K probably won't be published again as a
: regular book after Secret Wars 2K15 is
: finished. I'm even really enjoying Rael
: Rider as a part of the extended cast added
: to the book.
:
: So my question to other cosmic fans here is:
: Why aren't you picking up the book and
: supporting it? You've been asking for
: something like for years. What's preventing
: you from supporting G3K?
