Back to the 40th; well Nova64; ball is in your court mate; RB 3 has to be done. I think with the point regarding how difficult it'll be to get in actual input from current Marvel contributors, save perhaps Dan Abnett, I'd personally take the route that majority of the content of this volume should be sourced from the fans themselves - esp on a more international level. Added to that we could extend original input in the form of fanfics/fanart and mini art strips which have featured before. However what I have myself in mind is doing some comic to do the actual core celebration of the 40th; probably incorporating my own Nova619 into in. I think to handle the volume; might be best to create a core team - rather than having just one person do all the hard work; to which I volunteer my services. I'm sure others could help, esp for the new Nova/Sam/Awen material to sit within the bulk Rich Rider celebration. So is this going to be a green light project?

: Yes, definitely have to get the big 4-0 thing
: going for Richard Rider/The Man Called
: Nova/The Human Rocket.
:
: 1976. America's Bicentennial. I remember
: checking out the comics spinner rack on the
: Naval Air Station Naval Exchange base
: department store newsstand and books area as
: a kid. I wasn't into collecting comics yet
: but I do vaguely recall flipping through #1
: because of the cool cover. I probably ended
: getting a DC comic or two since I loved
: watching the Filmation DC Heroes cartoons. I
: was more familiar with DC and hadn't seen
: any of the 60s Marvel cartoons until later
: in the 80s.
:
: I was still in high school and The New
: Warriors' 1st appearance in Thor #411 and
: the NW #1 may have been the first comics
: that featured Nova that I bought. While on
: active duty Navy, Nova Vol.2 #1 had to have
: been the very first Nova issue I ever
: bought. I got both the regular and foil
: covers. I only collected the first couple
: issues. 2 years later I ended up getting the
: Star-Lord series drawn by Dan Lawlis. Didn't
: even know the difference between Peter Quill
: and Sinjin at the time, lol.
:
: Sam Alexander first appeared in Point One in
: 2011 but his ongoing series actually started
: in 2013 so either it'd be his 5th
: Anniversary or just his 3rd.

: Thanks! Indeed we would have to in some way
: reflect the changes since the last one;
: though overall most content would be focused
: on Rich. Like your ideas - esp the top ten
: battles. One thing we will have to do is get
: folks to participate - either fans -many of
: whom took time out to do articles for RB 1
: and 2; as well as artwork - the latter
: won't be a big problem as there's a good
: Nova fan art base at DA. I'd like to see in
: the third volume more original Nova Prime
: content- fan fics, and perhaps indeed an
: appraisal on how the fanbase has changed.
: More ideas welcome - but I must emphasize
: that I need to see how Nova64 thinks about
: this project before its given a full green
: light!

: Well i think it's a great idea for a 40th!
: things certainly changed for Nova in the
: last 5 years since the last Rocket Boosters!
: Here are a few ideas:
:
: Honestly, I think a major focus should be on
: the changes Nova has made over the last few
: years. Highlighting the new and currently
: planned characters. Even highligting the
: Nova Corps in the GotG movie.
:
: Maybe try to get with Abnett again to ask
: more information about Rael Rider. Why &
: how he came up with the character. Try to
: get up with Gunn and see what made him
: decide to use the Nova Corps in the movie.
:
: Get in contact with writers of Sam &
: Anwen's book.
:
: Maybe start a fan poll about Rich's 10
: greatest fights and put the results in the
: RB, breaking down each panel or the fight as
: a whole.
