I’ve hinted of expanding further the idea of Nova fans participating for Nova619 - already underway with several Nova fans taking part doing plots/ideas for the next season of digital comics for our 2018 Season. However, there are a lot of talented Nova fans out there that also do fan fiction – which compared to doing comics can have no barriers to doing awesome stories without limit of imagination. I know that not every Nova fiction writer may not necessarily want to do a fan fic story in Universe 619 – so how to get around that problem? Easy!
Already set within the concept of Universe 619 is the idea of multiple sidereal universes – the same idea that also played a part in the regular Marvel Universe before Secret Wars recently came along and rendered the Multiverse down to 2. Each “Verse” is separate, distinct and individual from each other. For the most part they are not connected – they evolved in their own fashion – born and die. In some, events occur that different Verses share, so for example many may have a war like Annihilation or a Kree/Skrull war whereas other are totally off the rails – both in evolution and concept.
In some circumstances however the walls between the different universes – the branes – can weaken and for brief moments travel between Universe 619 to other realms – can happen. Nova619’s Richard Rider has already visited one such alternate “verse” in the story “Cop and Conjurer” (Nova619 No.s 11-13 online at Nova Prime Page) – there coming into contact with the Eternals of Universe 8730 – finding that his counterpart there died while defending the Earth from the plans of Thanos of Titan after the death of Captain Mar-Vell! More recently in The Recruit (Nova619 No.29) – a familiar character from Richard past back on Earth from Universe 9947 where the British Empire never fell became the vessel to be Universe 619’s Dark Nova, Praetorian!
Another way however that these multiple universes can be observed – and stories told that feature different Nova’s, different Richard Riders, Peter Quills or any characters, worlds and so on is though the one thing in Universe 619 that has the power to perceive the veil. Not the Watchers – but through the Worldmind!
The Universe 619 Worldmind is far more infinite and powerful that the 616 version, it occupies the quantum realms of reality and mind itself – allowing those that live within it – the Xandarian Ascendents – the opportunity to witness what happens in other realities. And that is the gateway that will allow those that want to write 619 fan fiction the chance to shine and share their own visions of Nova!
For 2017 – myself, along with Doug Smith, – launch Worlds within Worlds! This is your chance to create new stories featuring Nova in any conceivable verse! In any situation! To explore the worlds that Nova619 cannot do in the digital comic format. Stories submitted will be not just words alone – I will also invite members of Team 619 and other DA artists to do illustrations for them – similar to the Summer Special we did back in 2015 and the back-up Wonder Worlock stories.
I and Doug will work out the submission guidelines and we’ll set up as when a first edition will go online next year. However to get started – 2 things.
One: If you want to consider doing a story for Worlds within Worlds – reply to this thread and register an interest to take part! This also applies to artists who want to do potential illustrations.
And Two: as mentioned – I’m also looking for a minimum of 2 extra Co-Editors to help organize this and future editions – so if interested contact me via darrenblackburn101@gmail.com
Like Nova619 and the 40th Special, this will be a free PDF zine available online at NPP – so what are you waiting for? Take a trip along the path of the Nova Force and take part today!
