I'm just really excited to see Richard Rider back again, alive and doing his thing- even if it's on earth.
: So Marvel says:
: The new Nova series will launch in December
: as part of the Marvel NOW! line shift at
: Marvel Comics. The new Nova series will
: still feature Sam Alexander as he attempts
: to help Richard Rider find his place in the
: modern world as both a Nova Corpsmen and as
: a human being after being removed for so
: As reported by Comicbook.com's Kofi Outlaw:
: "Ramon Perez talked about Richard
: Rider's return from the dead as Nova. He
: talked about the new story arc, which will
: see older Nova trying to school younger Nova
: (Sam Alexander) on how to be a hero.
: Thompson talked about bringing together the
: creative team for the book, whom they wanted
: in order to make "Rich Rider's"
: return feel worthwhile ... Perez later
: teased death and ressurection being a major
: theme they explore in the new Nova
: TL's Commentary:
: I don't like the way this is worded. Will
: the writers be able to resist making this
: "banned acronym"-centric? I doubt
: it - from the way this reads. Sounds like
: it's going to be more Earthbound crap
: centered around "banned acronym"
: f'n up and Rich trying to teach him
: something. That's just going to be sappy
: and stupid. NOT what I want to see.
: "Banned acronym" needs to be out
: of the picture. Or, worse, it's about
: "banned acronym" trying to help a
: somehow near helpless RR re-adjust. When
: he's only been gone probably less than a
: year Marvel time? What a load of BS. The
: way this is worded - especially the
: "worthwhile" comment - makes it
: sound like they really didn't think bringing
: RR back would be "worthwhile" and
: I don't like the sound of that at all.
: However, it does give all of us "banned
: acronym" haters an opportunity to
: pressure Marvel to get "banned
: acronym" out of the book, get Rich back
: into space, and make this a Rich-centric
: Novaverse. We may be able to salvage
: something that sounds like it'll start off
: as an attempt to sell "banned
: acronym" with RR a supporting character
: into what most of Nova fandom really wants -
: "banned acronym" out of the
: picture and a RR-centric military SF book
: like Annihilation.
