Fact: CBN had little impact in the return of Rich Rider. They have very little traffic and active posters on their message board. There's no talk about their main website anywhere online and people generally ignore their rants because they just don't make any sense.
Fact: The Nova fanbase AS A WHOLE is one of the main reasons Rich Rider is back. Marvel feels there's enough of a market to make it viable for RR to return. They didn't get rid of Sam because he has a fanbase as well. It's a large enough fanbase to warrant keeping him around. It's obvious that they'd like to reunite the fractured Nova fanbase by doing a duo series. They've been doing this with others the last few years and it's working, so why not try it here. Makes sense to me.
Everything you said, nova3333, is pretty much spot on. It's our choice, as fans, and all of us RR fans have been vocal in our support for RR returning in our own ways, and so here he is.
I don't think we'll ever get the people on CBN to settle down. They want 6 years ago back, with no changes. But DnA don't work together anymore and then there's that whole DC exclusive thing. Let's not forget that the Marvel Universe isn't the same anymore either.
This new book is a chance for us Nova fans to come together and embrace it. It's a chance for us to knock the sales out of the ballpark. If Marvel saw that sales were awesome, don't you think they'd do what they did with Spider-Man, GOTG, and publish more than one monthly? The obvious spin-off would be a book called Nova Corps. By supporting the new book whole heartedly, it's our best chance at getting a pure cosmic Nova book, and it's ironic that the CBN trolls are talking about a ban on the new Nova book. By banning the book, you're sending a message to Marvel that Rich won't sell and even by uniting the Nova fanbase there's not enough of a demand for Nova to support a 2 books, let alone one. Marvel is a business. Money talks to them.
Let's be rational and realistic. Do you want a Cosmic Nova book? Well, it's simple. Show Marvel that Rich is a hot commodity. If the new book fails, the message sent to Marvel is that Rich isn't a seller. Give the new book a chance. If the cosmic storylines sell better than the earthbound storylines, Marvel will pick up on that. But ultimately, it's up to us as fans to support the characters we want to see more of.
I don't think I'll comment on or read any more CBN threads... There's too much negativity there, and I'd rather focus on all of the positive stuff going on in the Nova world right now and take part in more fun conversations with true Nova fans.

: I read this today and I think it just shows
