A cemetery near our embassy is being re-claimed by the Libyan Government and we have found graves of at least 30 children from Wheelus Air Base from 1959 thru 1964. We are desperatly seeking contact information for anyone that may have a relative buried here. One name that appears consistently in the cemetery records starting in 1960 is A/1c J.D. Polk, and another is C.R. Tompkins. The name of an officiating minister that appears repeatedly in the record is Eddie Williamson. If anyone has any information about these individuals or has a relative buried here, please contact our office as soon as possible via email at USDAOTripoli@state.gov or BrownEL@state.gov.
