After Muammar Ghadafi took over, we had a staff meeting at AFRTS to answer the question: "How are you with a gun?" 
Thoughts that the base might be attacked were shared by the Captain. When asked if I'd be comfortable handling a gun during my show, I replied simply, "I'm a lover, not a fighter." He smiled and that was that. Soon, all-night radio came to a close and the station was moved inside the Security Police barracks.
