I cut a little door behind the companionway steps to get to it. There was not much insulation in the box so I made a new, bigger lid heavily insulated. Then I bought rigid foam and gluded it everywhere I could get to with spray in foam. I'm happy with it but my wife was even happier. We still use ice but not 10% of what we used before the installation. It will freeze things too. --Previous Message--

John,
: I've decided to install refridgeration on my
: mark I in the starboard ice box. It's hard
: to tell the extent of the insulation used in
: the original production. What can you tell
: me and has anyone made this conversion?
