Thanks Bill-
I stumbled across your marvelous web site and may borrow a bunch of your good ideas. The propane tank for one,the conversion to diesel another and finally your cockpit canvas. All well thought out, congratulations.

: John,
: I purchased an old camper two burner stove,
: parted it out, and bolted the burners and the
: distribution pipe to the existing gimbaled
: kerosene stove in my boat. To this I added a
: shutoff valve, a hose I had made up, and a
: small(6 5/16 by 22 1/2) aluminum tank that I
: purchased at West Marine. You can make a
: bracket to hang the tank on the stern pulpit.
: I have two milk delivery cartons lashed to
: the areas adjacent to the rudder shaft and
: use one for trash and holding the propane
: tank and the other is used to store chain and
: line with an anchor hung on the stern pulpit.
: Both cartons have a plywood top which I find
: handy to sit on when I need good visibility
: in a conjested harbor.
: I don't like using two anchors but find this
: an easy way to anchor and get underway when
: single handing.
: I ALWAYS TURN THE PROPANE OFF AFTER USING IT!
: Bill
