John, I built a propane locker under the cockpit seat on the starboard side of the tiller. The problem I had was getting the floor of the locker high enough so that I could vent the locker overboard above the water line. I designed it for 2ea 1 gallon tanks. It ventss OK when the boat's not moving but sometimes the stern wave comes pretty close the outlet of the drain on the transom. I'm not 100% comfortable with this drain arrangement but don't have a better solution.
I replaced my alcohol stove with a new Force 10 propane stove and also installed a propane heater, Dickinson P9000.
