Hi Michael,
My arrangement has a ss bow roller that extends forward maybe a foot off of the bow and holds a 22 lb Bruce anchor. I think the key here is to get a roller that fits your anchor. The rode and chain, which remain attached to the anchor, go into the locker at the bow through an oval shaped fitting with a removeable cap. When underway the chain hooks to the bottom of the cap to keep it in place. Whatever water gets in is ends up in the bilge as long as the drain line from the locker isn't plugged up.
