The HIN is supposed to be on the transom of all boats manufactured since November 1972. Yours was probably manufacturered prior to the law going into effect, although it may have been sold later. The HIN consists of the Manufacturer Identification Code, which for Yankee is YAN, the model, 30, the hull number in my case 131, the month of manufacture, and the year of manufacture, so mine is
