I just bought a Yankee 30. It has an Atomic 4 engine which evidently came from a Catalina. The shift lever as is about 10 inches long, and sticks straight up from the transmission. Because of this, the lever interfers with the engine cover (box?). I suspect that the lever should point down. Can anyone tell me if that's the case, and also long the lever should be? The distance from the shift shaft center to the hole in the shift lever is the critical one I'd guess. A pic showing the routing and connection of the shift cable would be most appreciated.
Regards, Norm
