Hi friends. Just acquired (bought) a Yankee 30 with alot of potential. I'm wondering about the keel bolts and the toe rail. My last boat had a bolted keel which was quite the talk of these discussion groups with replacing bolts or nuts, or flanges that span the series of bolt tops. Seams as though Columbia owners were worried about dropping the keel. I haven't seen any mention about the Yankee keels needing that much attention. My boat has a distinct line between the keel and the hull that I would like to epoxy in and bottom coat the hull. Any thoughts, experience, or recommendations?
Also, I want to replace the toe rail and would preferably go with wood with scarf joints to make the full run vs. aluminum. I could use some guidance and plans or schematics. Any help.
