I have just purchased a Y30 MKIII and completed a survey of the boat which included a haul out. There is clearly some play in the keel-hull attachment that has resulted in some cracking in the keel-hull fairing. While this is not unusual, the surveyor recommended researching the history of Y30 keels to determine if there have been any issues involving keel bolt failure over the years. Does anyone have any information about this? My sense is that there probably have been no keel bolt failures but I'd like to hear from those who have been familiar with the boat for a number of years and may have solid information.
