My first boat had a little one cylinder Vire engine. It didn't work either. I cleaned the carb, redid the sparkplug wire, changed fuel and cleaned it up and then it worked great. Never, ever failed to start! what I liked about it is I could either start it with the starter or with a rope like a lawnmower!
: I have located a 1974 Yankee 26 for sale in
: Oxnard, CA but the seller says there is a
: great deal of crazing in the gelcoat, mostly
: on the topsides. How difficult is this to
: repair? Also the boat has a Vire7 inboard
: gasoline engine (Finland) which has not been
: fired up for a year. Has anybody had any
: experiences with these engines?
: Thanks,
