Janet Paschal honoured in Louisville & appearing in UK
American Cancer Society benefit
Popular singer, songwriter, author and radio host, Janet Paschal was honored during the 52nd Annual National Quartet Convention by record company executives and The Singing News Magazine. Vine Records and Crossroads Entertainment hosted a #1 Party honoring the popular singer's NUMBER ONE song, "Hide Me, Sweet Rock Of Ages", which topped The Singing News Magazine's Top 80 Radio Airplay Chart for the month of August. Paschal received plaques in recognition of the occasion from Vine Records label heads, Wayne Haun and Kevin Ward, as well as Singing News Editor, Danny Jones. The song's publisher, Judy Nelon was also on hand to present plaques to Paschal and members of her production team, including radio promoters Jim Stover and Rhonda Thompson. Cake was served to the many fans, fellow artists and industry leaders on hand, as Paschal signed copies of her latest book and CD for over two hours.
"Hide Me, Sweet Rock Of Ages" marks the debut release from Paschals Treasure recording, which hit retail outlets in November, 2008. The recording's second radio release, "Jesus Is Alive And Well", is currently playing at radio stations nationwide. The release of Treasure coincided with the release of Paschal's latest literary work, Treasures of the Snow, which chronicles her battle with cancer and her triumphant story of victory. An advocate for cancer awareness, Paschal also launched a radio series, Walking The Good Road and community website, www.janetandfriends.com, earlier this year. The radio series airs of JOY FMs network of stations, covering seven states, each Wednesday.
On Saturday morning during NQC Week, Paschal teamed with the National Quartet Convention and JOY FM to present the first ever NQC Cancer Walk. Proceeds from the event were presented to the American Cancer Society. Participants received a free t-shirt and tote bag. Chick-Fil-A was on hand to provide participants with coupons and various other prizes. The event raised over $2000. "We were absolutely thrilled by the response to this year's event," Paschal stated. "We are already making plans for next year's event."
Paschal's fall touring schedule for 2009 includes tour dates throughout the US, as well as an extended European Tour with the Gaither Vocal Band, performing in 12 countries including Belfast, Glasgow & London.
Additional information about this popular recording artist, including event scheduling and a complete list of merchandise is available online at www.janetpaschal.com.
David Crowder Band - church music
GMA Dove winners and former MSN 'Artist of the Year' David Crowder*Band release their fifth studio album, Church Music. Aptly titled, the band hopes their self-produced recording will prompt listeners to recognise the continual evolvement of music within the church as well as transport them into an awareness that we exist within the very presence of God, therefore allowing Church Music to happen anywhere.
'I hope this album serves as a reminder of music within the Church, of its richness and its broadness, and the tension that exists in using elements of cultural language to express our collective experience and also still remain a transformative presence that is set apart,' admits band front man David Crowder.

Chris Tomlin - Christmas worship
transforming familiar carols
Worship leader Chris Tomlin has always wanted to do a Christmas record. 'It's a time when people who may not have sung a song the whole year, or their entire life, begin to sing,' he says. 'There is something about a Christmas song, whether it's sung at church or heard by carolers on the street, that gets people to join in song. They sing the songs proclaiming that God has come, has entered this world and made a way for us.' This is the spirit that Tomlin wanted to capture with the recording of Glory In The Highest, his brand new album.
Produced by Ed Cash, 'Glory In The Highest' features familiar classics including 'Angels We Have Heard On High', 'O, Holy Night', 'Joy to the World [Unspeakable Joy]', to which Tomlin wrote a new refrain, and four new songs that will be Christmas favourites for years to come. With special guests Matt Redman, Christy Nockels and singer/songwriter, Audrey Assad, the album succeeds in its purpose of transforming familiar carols into songs of worship.
