Hi,
I am a mom of five and your post caught my eye.
My kids go through the same thing and it wasn't long ago that I, and millions of other old moms and dads, were covered with zits and thought they couldn't leave the house or talk to anyone face to face.
And you know what?
You learn as you get older that you have to look deep inside yourself and forget about the pimples on your face because one day the pimples will be gone but there will always be something troubling you. It could be your old car that might not start when you have to take the kids to school, and you worry everyone will be late.
It could be your heart that beats too powerfully when you worry and you worry about your health.
It could be your fingers that feel like a truck ran over them but it's arthritis sneaking up on you and you deny the aging process.
It could be the fact that your job isn't going well and you worry how you'll pay the bills.
So you see, there is always something.
Look around you as you walk down the sidewalk. There are people with canes, people who have physical deformities, people who have missing or deformed limbs, people in mechanic wheel chairs. They will always have that. But you will outgrow your acne. And you know what? Old people like me, who know that pre teens and teenagers, who are so very worried about their looks, it gives us that stabbing feeling in our hearts that you are so upset. And you know what?
We worry about you, even if we don't know you and you have to tell yourself that each day is another day closer to growing up and having a clear face. And I hope that when you are older, and your kids come to you with tears in their eyes, and their tears sting their red burned faces from their acne treatment, that you will be so incredibly sensitive to their pain, and it will just make you a much better parent than anyone else.
be well,
