I'm not sure if this post is still going but I want to say that if you have pitted acne/icepick scars silicone injections are great! My surgeon used FDA approved silicone. I have undergone 2 treatments (500 dollars each) and the improvement is AMAZING. I am not afraid of the sunlight anymore and I rarely wear foundation. This works, just make sure to find a good surgeon.

: Please think long and hard before you have
: silicone injected into your skin. This is a
: permanent foreign substance that has caused
: problems for thousands of individuals. I
: personally would not do it. I did, however,
: have a full-face laser resurfacing which
: despite the cost and down-time, would
: recommend to anyone looking to improve acne
: scarring. It did absolute wonders for me.
: Think before you go ahead with the silicone.
: The extra money invested into a full face
: laser (if you need that much) is well worth
: the investment. If not, then wait a bit for
: the newer treatements to be approved and to
: become available. The majority of them that
: I've heard about are formulated from natural
: substances (unlike silicone), and they last
: for a much longer time than collagen.
: Silicone is there forever, and your body may
: have a problem with that.

: Just yesterday I got some a sample injection
: of silicone on my lower right check , I also
: suffer from Depressions , I seen a big
: improvment . I've been getting Restlayne
: injections but I think in couple months I'm
: going to get both cheeks injection with
: silicon , that price seemed high. I'm only
: going to pay 350 per treatment , probably
: just need 2 treatments in maybe a touchup .

: I have bad acne scarring myself but have
: been
: looking into laser skin resurfacing. It
: is much more expensive. It can range
: anywhere between $5000 - $7000. I am not
: sure about silicone injections but I was
: informed by my dermatologist about
: collogen injections. I was told they are
: not permanent. I do not think they last
: very long.
: I saw two differnet doctors regarding my
: scarring and both felt that laser
: resurfacing would have the best results.
: It is a very big decision to make. It all
: depends on the severity of your scars.
: You should really look further into
: different treatments for treating your
: scars.
: Good luck.

: I went to see a dermatologist for treatment
: of
: scars left from acne. The scarring has
: left depressions in the skin. The good
: doctor told me it could be easily
: corrected by 2-3 visits consisting of
: filling the depressions with liquid
: silicone injections. I don't know anything
: about the procedure. He said he's been
: doing it for years. Each visit will cost
: $700. Please share any information on the
: subject. Thanks.
