: I've been looking for a tab of this tune.
: I've made some attempt at it in C ( A form
: capo'd at 3rd fret ), Erie Hawkins version.
: Is it all around this chord? What other
: chords/fragments are there? It's been a
: while but I think its the 3rd measure that
: throws me. What a cool tune. I haven't
: seen the movie, does it get rebroadcast?
: Other tabs I'm looking for are: God Don't
: Never Change & Jack O' Diamonds...easy
: slide tunes. Thanks George

: Don't know about the tab but you should buy
: the movie if its not going to airing on you
: local pbs station any time soon. You may
: also want to check a local video\dvd rental
: store to see if they have it . Here in NYC
: they have it in the Linclon Center public
: library. It a great film. In my opinion
: it's the best film in the 'Martain Sorcese
: Present The Blues" series. The film is
: narrated by Lawrence Fishburne in the person of Blind Willie Johnson. Chris Thomas King from "O'Brother Where Art Thou"
: Plays Bind Willie Johnson. The scenes of
: Blind Willie and a young Skip James is shot
: with a old hand cranked camera. Gives the Look of being filmed in the 1920's and 30's The film is narrated from space because blind
: Willie Johnson song "Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground" was sent up in space on the Voyager space craft by Nasa in !977. It's really a kind of spacey down home film. My wife brought it for me for a gift because I rented it from tower about 6 times. Lots of great performaces by contempoary artist covering the songs of Blind Wllie, Skip James and J.B. Lenoir . The film is kind of sad because the lives of these blues greats was kind of tough. It's a different kind of documentary.
