It wouldn't have been in the sixties that Woody met with Rev. Davis because Woody was disabled and hospitalized by that point. If you search youtube you will come accross a film of Woody playing with Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee in the late 40's I believe. Even though Rev. Davis thought Brownie McGhee was the worst scumbag in existence, they did travel in the same circles and it was probably around then that Woody & Rev, Davis met. They both recorded records on the Stinson label around that time I believe.
I had the good fortune to study with Rev. Davis in 1969-1970. He owned a house in Jamaica Queens purchased with roalty money from Peter. Paul & Mary's recording of Samson & Delila, he refered to it as the house Peter Paul & Mary built.

: If Woody G. and his pals ever hung out with
: Gary Davis it was almost certainly when they
: were all in New York City. I believe it was
: in the sixties.

: I had the privilige of playing the Kent
: State University Folk Festival in 1971. Gary
: Davis was the main attraction and I sat next
: to him at a guitar workshop he gave. To say
: hen blew us all away was an understatement.
: He was very generous with his knowledge. He
: was also quite conscious of his abilities
: and understood quite well who were the

: certain he was no different even with Woody
