Chris, you're fortunate to have both a piece of family history and a great guitar, I have one just like it, but not from family. Value depends upon condition, but consider replacement cost to be at least well north of 2K. I think '32 is a pretty good date of manufacture for this guitar. Is there any family history of exactly when your grandfather may have purchased it? Documents, letters etc? ..additionally, be careful who you allow to do the work. Where are you located? Perhaps we could give you a few 'trusted' names..Regards, Tom

: I just inherited this beauty. It is black w/
: white pickguard. The bridge is not attached
: right now and it needs a new nut as well. It
: also has a few cracks on the top. It is all
: wear from my great grandfathers playing. He
: serenaded my great grandmother with this
: guitar in the 30's. I am taking it in
: tomorrow to get estimates for the repairs.
: Does anyone know what this piece might be
: worth? I know that it is pretty rare being a
: 1932 12 fret. Is it possible that this was
: made in 1931 or even 1930? That would be
: crazy. If anyone has any info please e mail
: me cisaac78@yahoo.com Thanx Chris
