Re: Blues encyclopedia?
There's the monster (600pps) two volume Routledge Encyclopedia Of The Blues with a suitably monster price tag. Published in 2006, edited by Ed Komara with the aid of as mass of contributors, it took several years to come to fruition. Whether or not it's definitive is debatable but like all such works it is inevitably out of date the moment it's published.
A couple of years later they published a companion one volume Blues Bibliography (1500pps) compiled by librarian Robert Ford and similarly expensive.
