Unfamiliar word in song lyrics

In the song "Oxford (Mississippi) Blues" by Bill Nettles of 1939 (NOTE: this song is featured on the Oxford American Music magazine CD of 2001) the last verse begins:
"I ain't no racehorse, ain't no ?? commadene ??
I'm a red hot daddy running like a sewing
machine".
The word in question is ? "commadene" ?. What is the correct spelling and the definition of the word? I have referred to old dictionaries in the library and blues slang websites to no avail.
In Spanish there is the word "comodin" which would be pronounced the same. However, the only definition of that word that I can find is "joker" as in a deck of cards. So it seems that word just wouldn't fit into the context of the rest of the verse.
