: I've recently moved to small-town America (and
: will never again go near a large metro if I
: can help it) and while I've been able to
: make a respectable living here teaching
: fingerstyle guitar I've found it absolutely
: impossible to do any gigging. Bands do all
: right, but there seems to be no room for, or
: interest in, solo performers. Any thoughts
: on how to break this barrier?
:
Yea I had some truoble starting to find gigs myself when i first moved to a small town in Ohio was a pain but it got easy once i was knowtised playin at my buddies house just chillin outside some guys came up and asked me to play at this local bar and from there the gigs just kept coming. I make an honest living off the gigs themsleves but im also in the army and just got back home. My thought is just get knowtised or stop by your local bars and ask for some play time for free at first then you can work in the money.
