The text of the chorus changes slightly from repeat to reapeat, but not so much that I felt it was worth transcribing. 2. I just cannot make out the 2nd half of the third verse, even going by the clean copy included with the latest Blues Images calendar. What I have is my best guess, but I could be convinced otherwise. 3. The [Therein] in the fifth verse is a kind of unlikely sounding word, but that's pretty much what it sounds like to me. He Calls That Religion Well the preacher used to preach to try to save souls chorus: Well, he calls that religion Was in church last night, happy as I could be chorus Preacher always he was a mighty true man chorus "Oh yeah, he calls that religion" He will swear he's keeping God's command chorus [Therein] the people stopped going to church chorus Old Deacon Jones he was a preaching king chorus "Oh yeah, he call that religion"

Here's what I could make out. Things I guessed at are enclosed in [brackets]. Some notes:
Mississippi Sheiks
But now he's preaching just to buy jelly roll
Yes, he calls that religion
Well, he calls that religion when I
Know he's going to Hell when he dies
The old preacher was trying to take my wife from me
[] [] [] [] and he [couldn't understand]
Have women fussing and fighting all over the land
They know that preacher was trying to do too much
Caught him round the house trying to shake that thing
