"He Rose from the Dead" -- origins?

Hi folks: Forgive me if you've seen this question elsewhere. I'm trying to find the origin of "He Rose from the Dead", recorded by Blind Lemon Jefferson c. 1927 (and covered by Ari ten years ago). I'm sure now that Jefferson was not the author; Rob Hutten has located a 1929 hymnal from Georgia that includes the song, but with no credits. The Fisk Jubilee Singers recorded it on a 1955 Folkways album. My questions: 1) Did they record it on a 78? So far I haven't found one. 2) Who wrote it, and when? Any help is much appreciated.
