That's what I'm singing on the album. I realize that a) some verses in the Blind Lemon recording are omitted on my recording, and b) I added a verse that was not in Blind Lemon's rendition.
: Sorry I can't help you but would you please
: help me checking the words I took on Ari's
: CD.
: He rose he rose he rose from the dead
: And the Lord shall bear my spirit home
: Go tell my disciples meet me in Galilee
: They crucified my saviour laid him in the
: tomb
: Mary she came running (for) to see her
: blessed boy
: When Im on my journey Ill rest in Jesus
: arms
: Are they ok... I'm not English nor American
: Is there any additional lyrics on Jefferson
: issue ?
: Thanks for your help

: Hi folks: : Forgive me if you've seen this
: question
: elsewhere. I'm trying to find the origin
: of "He Rose from the Dead",
: recorded by Blind Lemon Jefferson c. 1927
: (and covered by Ari ten years ago). I'm
: sure now that Jefferson was not the
: author; Rob Hutten has located a 1929
: hymnal from Georgia that includes the
: song, but with no credits.
: The Fisk Jubilee Singers recorded it on a
: 1955 Folkways album. My questions: : 1) Did
: they record it on a 78? So far I
: haven't found one.
: 2) Who wrote it, and when?
: Any help is much appreciated.
: Peace,
: Paul
