Posted by Tracey Evans on May 8, 2002, 4:13 am --Previous Message-- Again thank you so much Jon for the lyrics, it`s not actually me who plays guitar but my husband Simon (who in my opinion is pretty good). I play blues harmonica so we`re quite a good team really! Again thanks so much for the Lyrics, we`re thrilled. Bye for now.
: Hi Tracey. I don't have "Bye bye
: policeman", but here's "My
: Monday Woman Blues"
:
: I walked all the way from East St. Louis here
: I did not have but one poor dime
: It wasn't for me, and either no poor soul
: It was for that high-brown-skinned of mine
: I started to walkin', and me feet got soakin'
: wet
: I got to thinkin' 'bout my good gal 'n' I
: ain't quite walkin' yet
: My Monday brown-skin works 22 on Maine
: But my Tuesday brown-skin brings me pocket
: change
: But my Wednesday woman loves whiskey, and
: sometimes do drink beer
: But my Thrursday girl give me the devil if
: she catch me here
: My Friday good girl reads me the daily news
: But my Sat'day high-brown buys my socks and
: shoes
: I'm gotta gal in Georgie, one in Louisiana,
: four in Chatanoogy, six in Alabama
: Four or five women right down in Memphis,
: Tennessee
: If you don't like my peaches, let my orchard
: be
: When you see me comin', a'heist (hoist) your
: window high
: And when you see me leavin', hang your head
: and cry
: If you see Corrine, tell her I say
: "Hurry home."
: I ain't had no lovin' since Corrine been gone
: A good-looking woman, 'll make a rabbit move
: his family to town
: A bad-looking gal will make a mule kick his
: stable down
:
:
: Good luck with these. Out of curiosity, I
: assume you're playing these yourself? Are
: you performing them, or just trying to
: learn them for now? Are you playing in
: Jackson's style, or another? What kind of
: guitar are you using? Sorry, just
: curious. Have fun!

: I don't have "I'm gonna move..."
: but
: here are the others.
:
: I'm Wild About My Lovin'
:
: I'm going to tell the sergeant , he's the
: chief police, them women 'round here won't
: let me see no peace
: Cause I'm wild about my lovin', and I like to
: have my fun
: You wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: Hello Central, what's the matter with your
: line? I want to talk to that high-brown
: of mine
: I'm wild about my lovin', and I likes to have
: my fun
: You wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: I don't want no sugar stirred up in my tea,
: cause the girl I love is sweet enough for
: me
: I'm wild about my lovin', and I like to have
: my fun (Hey now!)
: If you wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: I ain't no ice-man, no ice-man's son, but I
: can keep you cool til the ice-man come
: I'm wild about my lovin', and I likes to have
: my fun
: You wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: I ain't no fireman, ain't no fireman's son,
: but I can keep you warm until the fireman
: comes
: I'm wild about my lovin', and I like to have
: my fun (I can't decipher this)
: If you wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: I'm gonn tell all you people to listen to
: this song, I'm goin' to see my girl, and
: it won't be long
: Because I'm wild about my lovin', and I likes
: to have my fun
: You wanna be a girl of mine baby, bring it
: with you when you come
: I mean when you come
:
:
: This Morning She Was Gone
:
: (People my good girl done left me, that's
: reason why I'm gonna sing you this song!)
: When I woke up this mornin', she's gone
: She made me mad, I felt so bad
: But she would not even tell me the reason why
: Oh, how she loves to dance that old grizzly
: bear
: I guess she's goin' to Frisco to dance it
: there
: Cause, when I woke up this mornin', she's
: gone
: Oh, when I woke up this mornin', she's gone
: She made mad me mad, I felt so bad
: But she would not even tell me the reason why
: Oh, how she loves to dance that old grizzly
: bear
: I guess she's goin' to Frisco to dance it
: there
: Cause when I woke up this mornin' she's gone
: Oh yes, she's gone, gone , gone
: She's gon, gone, gone
: It's always a sign, everbody knows it's true
: The more you do for people the less they
: think of you
: Now, she left town, and she throwed me down
: And she's gone, gone, gone
: Oh, when I woke up this mornin', she's gone
: She made mead, I felt so bad
: But she would not even tell me the reason why
: Oh, how she loves to dance that old grizzly
: bear
: I guess she's goin' to Frisco, to dance it
: there
: Cause, when I woke up this mornin', she's
: gone
: Oh, when I woke up this mornin's, she's gone
:
: Hope this helps!

We`re both passionate for the blues, loving the likes of McTell, R.Johnson, Robert Wilkins, Lemon,Leadbelly, Big Bill, Sonny and Brownie, Sonny Boy 1 etc, etc.
We stumbled upon this site after buying Ari`s learn tape of Lemon Jefferson, we were floored with Ari`s playing and just out of curiosity I wondered whether he had a web-site and here we are!
