: I have also been looking for this big bill tab.
: In your response you suggested playing the
: G barre chords. As a beginner I have no
: idea of chord progressions. I have tried
: G C7 and D and it doesnt sound right. Any
: tips would be appreciated. Thanking you in
: advance.
The song is a kind of loose 8-bar blues, with a chord progression (1 chord per bar) of G-G7-C-C-G-D7-G-D7. For the G chord, try an index barre at the third fret with the second finger fretting the fourth fret of the third string, and the third finger fretting the fifth fret of the fourth string. If you don't want to barre, finger an F chord two frets high on the first four strings and wrap your thumb to get the third fret of the sixth string. For the G7, add the little finger at the sixth fret of the second string. For the C chord, slide an index partial barre of the second, third and fourth strings from the fourth to the fifth fret, playing only those same strings in the right hand. Return to the G position you began the song in. For D7, finger a C7 shape in which you fret the sixth string rather than the fifth string, and slide it from the third fret to the fifth fret. Go back to the G position, the run lives at the sixth and third frets of the first string, the sixth and third frets of the second string, the sixth, fifth and third frets of the third string, and fifth fret of the fourth string. The run preceding the final D7 chord lives at the open fourth string, third fret of the fourth string, the open third string, and the third fret of the third string. End progression on the same D7 shape you used earlier. Listen a zillion times to Big Bill's version and copy the sounds you hear. Phrase to suit your vocal. Good Luck.
John
