Stefan Grosman posted a webpage that was selling of a few Stellas a while back on the woodshed. However, I checked and it appears to be gone off the last 700 posts, which is all he saves. I know you post there so you could ask him to post it again. They seemed pretty pricey to me compared to most of Neil's guitars. They were mostly oak bodied as I recall. In pretty good condition. I always assume, when buying a vintage instrument (especially over the web), that I am going to have to put a couple more hundred into it, frets, bridge, bone nut, whatever, to get the set up I really want to play. Ari can attest to my luthiers talent, he played my '30 Style "O" at PT last summer. I would just keep an eye on Neil's page and be patient. The right guitar will probably come along, whether it's price,or condition, or style that you're looking for. I think Neil is a pretty fair judge of these guitar's value. Well, I have bought two guitars from him, and feel lucky to own both. Just remember, the less you pay, the more you're likely to have to spend to get it to play well. Unless of course, you happen to be at a church bazaar and happen to pick up some old thing that was in somebody's Grandpa's attic for a song. If you do, look around for a few old Vocalions while you're at it.
Well, I'm off to Philly myself for the holiday. Not much time so I wont even ask if you have time for a lesson, Ari. Hope all is well, and I really hope to see you at PT next summer.
All for now.
