I don't think I'll be doing Scrapper Blackwell, even though he's great, because I don't play much by him. (I'd be happy to show you some stuff informally, though.) I haven't decided for sure, but I'm thinking of doing a class on some of Rev. Gary Davis's early recordings. There seems to be more emphasis on his later work at the expense of his absolutely stellar 1935 recordings. I'll keep you posted. --Previous Message--

Thanks, John.
: Hey Ari, glad to see you're going to be at
: Centrum again this year. I know a few
: other folks who feel the same way. And
: Honeyboy Edwards!!!
: I wanted to let you know that a certain 1930
: Style O would be there again, as well. My
: luthier loved hearing about your
: appreciation of his work.
: So, I imagine you haven't really thought a
: lot about what you'll be teaching yet, so
: I thought I might make a suggestion. I
: really enjoyed your performance of
: Scrapper's Back Door Blues last year, and
: would love to learn it. It seemed within
: reach, but of course, you make it look so
: easy.
: Please let us know what you decide on
: teaching so we can all give a good listen
: before we get there.
: All for now,
: John C.
