Thank you, Ari,
Well, I'll give Back Door Blues some hard listening and see if I can get a sense of it . I have Stefan's tab of Blue Day Blues and I play DVR's version of Down South Blues, both in A, so I guess I've already got some help. Look forward to going over it with you.
Early RGD sounds great. I have to admit I haven't tackled any of his stuff yet. Definitely intimidating. Perhaps you'll be able to recommend which classes would be best for those approaching RGD for the first time.
Hope all is well in Philly.
All for now.

: Thanks, John.
: Actually, I have been doing some thinking
: about what I'll be teaching. I don't
: think I'll be doing Scrapper Blackwell,
: even though he's great, because I don't
: play much by him. (I'd be happy to show
: you some stuff informally, though.) I
: haven't decided for sure, but I'm thinking
: of doing a class on some of Rev. Gary
: Davis's early recordings. There seems to
: be more emphasis on his later work at the
: expense of his absolutely stellar 1935
: recordings.
: I'll keep you posted.

: Hey Ari, glad to see you're going to be at
: Centrum again this year. I know a few
: other folks who feel the same way. And
: Honeyboy Edwards!!!
: I wanted to let you know that a certain 1930
: Style O would be there again, as well. My
: luthier loved hearing about your
: appreciation of his work.
: So, I imagine you haven't really thought a
: lot about what you'll be teaching yet, so
: I thought I might make a suggestion. I
: really enjoyed your performance of
: Scrapper's Back Door Blues last year, and
: would love to learn it. It seemed within
: reach, but of course, you make it look so
: easy.
: Please let us know what you decide on
: teaching so we can all give a good listen
: before we get there.
: All for now,
: John C.
