Interim Rentals

Hello, my husband and I are moving to Sydney in January '08. We would like a short-term rental while we look for a home to rent or buy. In the US, we have chains like Country Inn and Suites or other such places that include a kitchen, living area, etc. I haven't found anything similar in Sydney. Am I just missing them? Holiday rentals are very expensive. Any suggestions? Thanks. Alissa P.S. Go Bucks!
