hi louise- even though you registered four years ago, it's best not to assume you'll get your ballot for the upcoming elections. good idea to recomplete the form for your state and local voting authority and fax it through to them, then resend the signed original to them. don't leave anything to chance.
the other thing to keep in mind is that if your home state has a primary, and you wish to vote in it, get the paperwork to them soon, as many of the states have moved their primaries up towards the beginning of the year- iowa will not be the only primary coming up very early in 2008.
let me know if you have any problems or questions, but the OVF website is a big help in answering lots of different questions.

: Hi
:
: A year ago I put up a message about the
: Overseas Vote Foundation. This is a
: non-partisan, non-profit, public charity
: that is committed to non-partisan overseas
: voter outreach and reigstration of overseas
: American citizens, State Department
: employees and active duty uniformed service
: members and their accompanying families to
: ensure greater overseas voter
: enfranchisement for US elections.
:
: I have been working as a volunteer
: representative tor the OVF here in Australia
: for the past year, trying to help other
: expat / business transfer American citizens
: to ensure they are able to register to vote
: in US state and federal elections.
:
: As the US federal election year is soon to
: be upon us, with some of the numerous state
: primaries already set to occur early in the
: New Year, American voters may wish to
: participate even if they are now residing in
: Sydney / Australia. It is entirely possible
: for Americans residing outside the USA to be
: registered to vote in US elections, and any
: US citizen is able to register for and vote
: in US elections if they wish to vote.
:
: In the past months OVF has been working to
: streamline and improve the online voter
: registration website to make it a completely
: integrated suite of voter services for
: overseas and Uniformed Services voters.
: This website will help anyone interested in
: registering to vote and will help answer any
: questions that may arise about how to go
: about registering to vote in US elections
: for any US state or territory where they
: were originally registered to vote, or if
: they have not previously registered.
:
: Go to http://wwwoverseasvotefoundation.org/
: and follow the links. This site will assist
: completion of the US government generated
: registration forms, and it will give
: appropriate information to help voters
: ensure they become registered to vote while
: residing outside the US during any future US
: elections.
:
: If anyone has any questions, please feel
: free to contact me on nicholas_marshall1 at
