I think as long as your baby is healthy and you get the ok from your dr it should be fine. I have a few friends that flew long flights with newborns (4-6 weeks old) with no problems. I think my son had a standard health check at 6 weeks; maybe you’d want to travel after that. It usually takes a few weeks for the baby’s passport to get processed, anyway. I think it’s easier when they are smaller because they sleep a lot and they haven’t started solid food yet. We took our son on his first flight when he was 3 months old (only a 3-hour flight) and it was easy. Make sure you breast/bottle feed or give a dummy on take off & landing to prevent their ears from popping. I recommend requesting/booking the bassinet. Even though they are quite small, it’s nice to have your hands free for at least part of the flight.
