Hi Becky,
We flew back to Australia from New York when my daughter was 10 months. You have to make sure you ring the airline over and over to confirm the bassinet. Even if you book it once, you have to keep following it up. I booked it and when I called the 3rd time to confirm seating I again asked about the bassinet and they said, "Oh, it's not confirmed you need it", I told them at that time that I do and again they booked it in for me. They tried to tell me they can't confirm I will get it 100%, so I asked them to put in my notes that if I do not have a bassinet, I will need to be re-booked on another flight, they added that to the notes and they commented to me when I checked in that I will definitely have a bassinet and the notes are where added was what gave them the incentive to make sure it happened.

: Hi Becky. We moved here when my son was 3 1/2
: months old. Our pediatrician in the US said
: we should wait to do the flight until he was
: 3 months old, to give him a bit more
: immunity to protect him on the flight with
: lots of people and their germs in close
: quarters.
: Good luck with whatever you decide. It's a
: very long flight, especially with a baby on
: your lap.
