I have no idea what a passport card is, but you can transfer your visa quite easily... just go to the DIAC (or whatever they're calling it these days) office, show your new and old passports, and they'll reprint you a brand new visa label for your new passport. :-) I guess you don't really "need" to transfer it, but it makes your life a lot easier when you travel!
